Private Reformer Pilates in Portsmouth, NH

Strength and Mobility on Your Terms

Private reformer Pilates designed for how your body actually moves. Whether you're new to Pilates, returning after a break, or looking for a structured way to keep building after PT. Every session is one-on-one and built around your goals.

What Group Classes Can't Give You

A room full of people isn't a plan for you

Group classes are designed for the average body in the room not yours. If you have movement limitations, a history of pain, or specific goals, generic sequences may not be the right starting point.

No one is watching how you actually move

Without individualized attention, compensations and patterns go unaddressed. You might be working hard and still reinforcing movements that aren't serving you.

Progress stalls without a clear pathway

Without structure and progression tailored to your body, it's easy to plateau or avoid the movements that feel hard rather than building toward them with guidance.

Frequently Asked Questions

New to reformer Pilates? Here are the questions we hear most before a first session.

I've never done reformer Pilates before. What should I expect?

Your first session starts with a conversation and a movement evaluation so we understand where you are and what your body needs. From there, we introduce reformer exercises at a pace that feels manageable and builds progressively. You don't need any prior Pilates experience to start.

How is this different from a group Pilates class?

Private reformer Pilates at Golden Hour is one-on-one for the full session. Exercise selection, cueing, and progression are based entirely on your body and your goals not a class format designed for a general audience. There's no keeping up with others, just focused work tailored to you.

Is this Pilates or physical therapy?

Private reformer Pilates is its own service, distinct from physical therapy. That said, our Pilates work is informed by a physical therapy background and a Polestar Pilates Comprehensive Certification so your movement is always viewed through a thoughtful, clinical lens.

How do you decide what exercises I should do?

We begin with a comprehensive movement evaluation to understand your patterns, limitations, and goals. That informs the exercise selection from day one, and your plan evolves as your strength and movement quality improve.

Do you offer Pilates memberships?

Yes. After your initial sessions, you can move into a monthly Pilates membership with either four or eight appointments per month depending on the structure that fits your schedule and goals best.
