Movement With A Purpose
At Golden Hour - this is YOUR hour for concierge-style care, offering Physical Therapy and one-on-one private Reformer Pilates for women seeking to build strength, enhance mobility, improve vitality, and maintain independence in daily life.
Golden Hour’s 3 Step Approach to Physical Therapy
-
Find the Root Cause & Calm the System:
This phase is about understanding why your pain is happening, not just where you feel it.
We assess posture, alignment, breathing patterns, mobility, and movement habits to identify the root cause of irritation—whether it’s poor load distribution, muscle imbalance, joint restriction, or faulty movement patterns. Using gentle Pilates-based techniques, hands-on strategies, and corrective exercises, we reduce tension, calm the nervous system, and create a foundation for pain relief.
Goal: Decrease pain, reduce inflammation and guarding, and restore optimal alignment so movement feels safe again.
-
Restore Control & Pain-Free Movement:
Once pain is under control, we shift focus to how you move.
This phase emphasizes reconnecting you to your deep core system—pelvic floor, diaphragm, transverse abdominis, and spinal stabilizers—using precise, intentional Pilates based exercises. We retrain efficient movement patterns, improve coordination, and reestablish confidence in pain-free motion. Every exercise is purposeful, controlled, and tailored to your body.
Goal: Move with control, stability, and confidence—without triggering symptoms.
-
Build Strength, Balance & Long-Term Resilience:
Now we challenge the body in a smart, progressive way with weekly 1:1 Reformer Pilates sessions.
In this phase, Pilates becomes more dynamic and functional. We build strength, endurance, balance, and mobility to support your lifestyle—whether that’s daily activities, athletic performance, or long-term wellness. Movements are layered, resistance increases, and real-world demands are integrated so your body is prepared to handle stress without breaking down.
Goal: Create a resilient body that stays pain-free and performs confidently for the long term.

I had never tried Pilates and a former PT encouraged me to give it a try. I am so glad I did! Melissa is a wonderful and supportive instructor. Her Pilates and Physical Therapy knowledge has helped me tremendously and she has helped me so that I can be successful! I have had multiple back and total knee replacement surgeries and was unsure if I could be successful at it. I am feeling a lot stronger and confident that Pilates is helping my back! Thank you, Melissa!
